A
Tell- Explain to patient an parent what happens with the procedure will include in a way they can understand
Show- Demonstrate what will happen during procedure - use mirror for patient where appropriate
Do- Undertake the procedure
Continue telling/doing untill you are finished.
Encourage and praise the child.

Distraction
A
Use things to distract patient from the procedure
-TV
-Toy (That they can easily play with while lying down for example sqeezy toy or fidget spinner)
-Make animal balloon out of glove.

A
Allow patient to watch another child.
similar age, gender, culture.
- Must be a successful procdure
This could allow the child to realise the procedure is not as bad as they may think
