Deviance is a violation of norms.
Theories:
*Labelling theory: a behaviour is deviant if people have judged the behaviour and labelled it as deviant
*Differential association: deviance is a learned behaviour that results from association with others that violate norms and laws
*strain theory: if a person is blocked from obtaining a culturally acceptably goal, they feel strained and turn to deviance e

Collective behaviour
A
Collective behaviour is time limited but open to anyone and have loose norms. Groups are long term, exclusive and have strongly defined norms.
