the idea that the mind has a behaviour, It is concerned with stimulus-response (black box) between input and output

science should use an objective method so that all observations can be verified

distinction between conscious and nonconscious separate from behaviour

what are the problems with behaviourism?
A
does not take mind seriously
unable to describe what a thinker is doing in behavioural terms
there is a loss of meaning when paraphrasing
it does not say what happens in the black box, thus letting the qualia out
