Why are you interested in this position?
I’m an engineer because I believe that smart people have a responsibility to make the world a better place (and because it’s cool). Tesla is pushing forward human capability in renewable energy, robotics, and autonomy and that aligns very well with my values. Tesla also has a reputation for excellent engineering and I would love to be a part of team like that.
What are you looking to get into now or in the future? / What factors do you consider when making a move?
I’m looking for a challenging technical position with room for learning and growth. I’m fascinated by many engineering disciplines and enjoy the opportunity to wear a lot of hats. Outside of that, another big consideration is the team and management style of a role. I recognize that the culture of a team has as much, if not more, impact on job satisifaction than the day to day duties of said job. To that end, I love working with smart people in a collaborative environment and I prize flexibility, responsibility, and autonomy.

Mechatronics, Software, Integration

Why am I considering leaving Maxar?
To be honest, I love my job and my team. We do fascinating work in a fascinating field. In general, I am not looking for a job - but I am interested in Tesla because I believe Tesla is also doing fascinating work in a fascinating field. I am primarily motivated by learning and taking on new challenges which I imagine would be abundant on your team.
