Behavioral Flashcards
What are you looking for in the job?
Looking for a place to utilize the analytical and research skills I’ve developed through coursework and personal projects. All the work I’ve done has been entirely directed towards skill development, I want to feel like I’m adding value – while still learning.
What are your strengths?
I thoroughly enjoy and am confident in my ability to solve problems.
Additionally, I am skilled in distilling complex topics to an audience of varying levels of understanding. This is because I learn best by teaching.
What are your weaknesses?
I am working to improve by ability to detach myself from a problem or an aspect of a task when its not worth the time investment. Producing some output is better than producing nothing in the pursuit of perfection.
How do you handle stress and pressure?
I thrive under these conditions. I feel the most genuine stress when I don’t have anything to do.
The best semester I had in school was when I was taking 18 credits, working at the internship and ubering during the weekend.
What motivates you?
I am driven by solutions and a passion for what I do.
Career Goals?
I want to go to grad school for statistics at some point in my life. I would be most fulfilled if I was able to develop novel approaches to problems rather than implementing others approaches.
How do you build relationships?
Outside of a work environment, I listen. I don’t have small talk with everyone but rather engage in meaningful conversations with a few. Prefer to build a few strong relationships rather than many acquaintances.
I take a similar approach in a work environment, but additionally let the work I do speak for itself.
Tell me about yourself
I have narrow interests, but pursue them with all of my energy. Driven by mental and physical challenges. Exercise my brain through my work and body through running.
What type of work environment do you prefer? Was this what you had previously?
I prefer a fast pace, challenging environment with high expectations.
This isn’t entirely what I had during my internship, but when coupled with everything else I was doing - you could say it was.
What was an time when you were a leader?
During a group project, the one listed on my resume, I lead efforts. I defined the project goal, delegated tasks at stage, and reviewed and revised the project once completed.
