General assumptions made “at a glance, intentionally” when meeting a patient.
What are the 6 things you’re supposed to be looking at in the general survey?
- Apparent state of health and level of consciousness
- Skin color and obvious lesions.
- Facial Expression
- Grooming/Hygiene
- Posture
- Gait
What are the 4 concerning signs/symptoms?
- Changes in weight. (cancer)(diabetes)
- Fatigue (unexplainable fatigue)
- Fever, chills, night sweats.
