To inquire into the lives of the church members under its care
To examine, ordain, and install elders/deacons
To approve actions affecting church property
To call congregational meetings
To exercise authority over the time and place of worship
To observe & carry out lawful injunctions of higher courts
Commission vs Committee
Commission has to carry out something, complete it’s business.
Committee just provides study, report.
How often do Courts meet?
Deacons: once per quarter
Elders: once per quarter
Presbytery: twice per year
