A
The battle is a reaction to the Act of Accord, Margaret is now forced to fight and win back her sons right to the throne
- Margaret started building an army in the North and seizing Yorkist properties in the North.
- After Yorkist properties being siezed up North, York marched up north to Sandal castle.
- Margaret with an army marched to Sandal castle from Pontefract castle (12 miles apart),
- Margaret’s surprise attack left the Yorkists outnumbered and ended with the death of York and his eldest son.
