The bassoon player is in general, playing sharp. What are the possible causes? (3 causes)
A - The reed is too hard.
E - the bocal is too short.
F - there is extra tension
A beginning bassoon student is producing an unsupported sound on low F.
What are the 2 causes?
B- Lack of support from lower Jaw.
E - Lack of air support
A beginning bassoon student is producing a high pitched crow, with too few sounds.
What are the 2 remedies?
D- Check the thickness of the reed/ balance in cane
F - decrease pressure in embouchure, more relaxed

D- Embouchure too tight, or pinched.
F- reed too stiff, closed off

B- change length and/or width of the read
C- more support to dampen reed

What are the two remedies
A- use a faster air stream. more support from diaphragm.
E- slightly increase lower jaw support
