What is the initial treatment of Rheumatoid Dz?
A
DMARD non-bio (MTX), NSAIDs and a Corticosteroid, Mild cases get Hydrocychloroquine over MTX

If the initial Tx fails, what is given?
A
A 1st line biologic (targeted) treatment is used (TNF-alpha blockers) with or without MTX

If TNF-alpha treatment fails, what next?
A
May try a different TNF-a blocker or just a different targeted tx

Why is early aggressive treatment important?
A
Longer remission, less joint destruction, and better quality of life

DMARD tx is as effective as targeted but a lot cheaper
