Plantar Fasciitis
Inflammation of plantar fascia - common in runners
- Work on strength of achilles tendon and fascia
Lateral Ankle Sprain
SP: medial talar tilt/anterior drawer
- Strengthen achilles tendon, peroneus longus and brevis
Medial Ankle Sprain
SP: lateral talar tilt
Strengthen achilles tendon and deltoid lig
Syndesmosis Sprain
High ankle sprain - injures the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis
Strengthen calf group
Avulsion Fracture
Piece of bone chipped away with the lig. Can occur with medial or lateral ankle sprain if very severe.
Strengthen achilles tendon, deltoid lig (medial), calf group, or peroneus longus and brevis (lateral)
Gastrocnemius Strain
Stretching of calf muscle
Strengthen
Achilles Tendinopathy
Strengthen Gastrocnemius and soleus
