Basic Trigonometric Ratios (for Rt. Triangles) Flashcards
What is the Tangent Ratio?
For acute
opp
Remember adjacent and opposite legs are dependent on perspective vertex (which vertex is named)

What does SOHCAHTOA mean?
SOH
Sine: opp / hypotenuse
CAH
Cosine: adjacent / hypotenuse
TOA
Tangent: opposite / adjacent

What is arc tan/cosine/sine?
Arc tan/cosine/sine is when you put tan/cosine/sine to the -1 power. When you do not know the angle measurement in which you are finding the tan/cosine/sine but you know the side measurements, used ARC
tan-1 (75/35) =
tan 65 = 75/x to find a side
When to use ARC or regular?
