Running Stitch
– one of the strongest stitches used. This is the default for hand-sewing seams. It can
take the place of machine sewing in hard to reach areas.
Back Stitch
this stitch can be adjusted and taken through a fold in the hem to create a
blind stitch or invisible hem stitch.
Ladder Stitch/Slip Stitch
– a variation of the ladder stitch, is very useful especially for shortening store-bought pants. It is invisible whe
you carefully take up only a few threads of the cloth, such that the sewing thread cannot be seen on the
other side.
