Q

What are clauses?

A

Each sentence often contains a number of clauses, each clause has a finite verb (verb with a person).
We define these clauses in relation to each other. Subordinate clauses are introduced by words like “when” “so that” “although” and so on. When you have removed the subordinate clause, you are left with the main clause and the main verb.
