What must every prescription have?
A
- Legible
- Unambiguous (not range of doses)
- An approved (generic) name
- In capitals
- Signed
- If drug is “as required” must state the indication and maximum frequency or total dose in 24 hours
- For antibiotics - indication with a stop/review date
- Include duration if the treatment is not long term or if it is in a GP setting (e.g. 28 days)
