Types of temperatures that are commonly taken are:
Tympanic (EAR) Temporal (Across the forhead) Axillary (under the armpit) Oral (in the mouth) Rectal (in the rectum)
The pulse rate measures:
The number of times your heart beats in a minute
An 02 sat monitor measures:
The amount of oxygen in the blood
You should not take an ORAL (by mouth) temperature on anyone who:
is unconscious…. under 5…… confused….. has a facial or neck injury….. has a cough….. has eaten or drank within 15 minutes…
The most accurate site for a temperature is:
Rectal
Most common site for taking a pulse (heart beat)
