A decision making process that is used to systemically evaluate possible courses of action, risks and benefits, and best course of action (COA)

What are the risk management foundations?

What are the four principles of risk management?
(These are applicable ALL THE TIME)
1. Accept no unnecessary risk
2. Make risk decisions at appropriate level
3. Integrate RM into operations, activities, and planning at ALL LEVELS
4. Apply the process cyclically/continuously
What does a strong, effective risk management process involve?
Careful and deliberative planning coupled with effective, real- time RM
What is Deliberate RM?
Pre-mission planning with a 5-step process: 1. Thorough hazard identification (ID)
2. Detailed data research
3. Diagram and analysis tools
4. Formal testing,
5. Long-term tracking of risks
What is Real-time RM?
No time to conduct formal planning, “on the fly” using basic RM process steps, made in “real- time”
What continuous, systemic 5-step process is used for deliberate and real-time PM?
- Identify the hazards

- Develop Controls & Make Decisions
- Implement Controls
- Supervise & Evaluate
What Is OPSEC?
Identify actions that can be observed by adversary intelligence systems, determine what critical info could be collected, analyzed, or interpreted by adversaries, eliminate/reduce vulnerabilities
Who implements disciplinary action for OPSEC?
Commanders

Arbitrary and impulsive exercise of power by military member
What is the FWA Policy?
Air Force policy for any military member or civilian employee to engage in fraud, waste, or abuse
What is the purpose of the FWA?
Prevent, detect, and correct instances of FWA
