What a hub does ?
Broadcast all data to every port. It has a common connection point for all devices.
What a switch does ?
Receive and forward data to the destination device.
What is a router ?
A small device that sits between the modem and your computer. It helps communicate from the internet and your computer at home.
What a router does ?
Forward data packets from the internet to your computer.
What is the purpose of cables being shielded and having twisted pairs ?
Avoid crosstalk.
Crosstalks are electromagnetic interferences or noise that can affect data being transmitted across cables.
What is client / server ?
Client / server refers to a type of network where one or more computers act as servers. Servers provide repository of resources to the clients.
