What is Basic Med?
A
- It is an alternative way for pilots to fly without holding a FAA medical as long as they meet certain requirements

How do you get Basic Med?
A
- You must have held a FAA medical after July 14, 2006
- You must have a valid U.S. drivers license
- You must get a physical exam done by a state-licensed physician
- You must complete the online course

What are the Limitations?
A
- You cannot get hired/compensated
- You can only fly up to 6 occupants
- The aircraft has a max takeoff weight of 6,000lbs
- You can only fly within the U.S. under VFR/IFR rules, at a max altitude of 18,000ft, and a max speed of 250kts
