A

A simile is when you compare two different things using words “like” or “as”.

Examples:
“she sings like an angel”
“as brave as a lion”

A metaphor is a figure of speech that compares two unrelated things by saying that one thing is another.

Examples:
His words were a dagger to my heart.

What is a personification?

A

Personification is when a non-human is given human qualities.

Example:
Think of your own.

“The ocean waves crashed angrily against the shore.” by describing the waves as “crashing angrily,” the writer gives the waves a human-like quality, suggesting that they can express emotions similar to those of a person.

A

An adjective is a word that describes something.

Difficult Examples:

“Ineffable”
“Disproportionat”
“Unprecedented”

What is a noun?

A

A noun is a name, place, thing or an idea.

Example:
People: “John”
*Places: “Omaha” *
*Things: “Book” *
Ideas: “perspicacity”

Note: being perspicacious is an adjective but perspicacity specifically is a noun, be careful when determining nouns like this haha.
