A girl in your class has been bitten by a snake, and you witnessed it. What should you do?
Memorize what the name looked like. Keep the patient still. Take them to the hospital ASAP. Describe the snake to the doctor to get the antivenom. Do not suck or cut. No food or drink.
You have cut yourself. How do you treat it?
Put on gloves. wash the cut with soap and water. Press a gauze or clean pad to stop bleeding. cover with a plaster or bandage. Once the scab forms, remove the plaster. If the cut is serious, see the doctor.
You have burned yourself. What do you do?
Run under a cold tap for 10 minutes. If possible, apply burn gel. If serious, see doctor. If the patient is wearing clothes over the burn, do not remove them.
You have been sunburned. What do you do?
Take a cool bath or apply a cool towel. Apply moisturiser. If blisters form, do not burst.
You have a bruise. What do you do?
A bruise is a soft tissue injury that can heal on it’s own. Ice regularly for the first 24 hours. Raise the area above your heart so blood flows down.
How do you treat stings and bites?
Remove sting by scraping with a card or knife. Ice.
