auxiliary
A
- represent actual, imagined person, or other aspects of the protagonist’s life or object as accurate as possible
- enables protagonist to view his own reality, to identify how he experienced the relationship and the meaning of it
- goal is not to replicate life
- need certain degree of spontaneity, adequate response to the emerging psychodramatic situation putting their own needs apart
- may gain insight from the new role or be working on own past experiences, but may NOT interfere in the needs of the protagonist and enact the protagonist’s perspective

- may participate in any moment as auxiliaries

- can be done in any informal room, not much equipment necessary
- at least 80 square feet recommended

- group discusses goals, limits, time arrangement
- members introducing each other
- emergence of a theme, getting in touch with thoughts and feelings
- emergence of a protagonist
- important to reach medium/high degree of warm up to be able to connect and experience emotions

- director brings protagonist on stage

- play scene as in here-and-now
- director invites other members of the group –> auxiliaries
- opening scene is represented
- to help auxiliaries learn their roles, protagonist will switch with them
- director introduced different techniques
- working through: develop adaptive attitudes and behaviors
