  • represent actual, imagined person, or other aspects of the protagonist’s life or object as accurate as possible
  • enables protagonist to view his own reality, to identify how he experienced the relationship and the meaning of it
  • goal is not to replicate life
  • need certain degree of spontaneity, adequate response to the emerging psychodramatic situation putting their own needs apart
  • may gain insight from the new role or be working on own past experiences, but may NOT interfere in the needs of the protagonist and enact the protagonist’s perspective
