Recognizable Disabilities
Disabilities that are immediately obvious, eg. blindness or not having arms or legs.
Hidden Disabilities
Disabilities that are not always immediately obvious, eg. deafness, reading disorders, or seizures
Temporary Disabilities
Eg. when an injury or surgery reduces a person’s mobility
Age-Related Disabilities
Disabilities related to the aging process, eg. losing sight, hearing, mobility, and/or cognition
Assistive Technologies (AT)
Technologies designed specifically for people with disabilities to help compensate for their lack of ability in certain areas. (Eg. wheelchairs, hearing aids)
