Monocots:
- Usually parallel veins
- Flower parts in 3s
- Lamina often bladelike, petiole often absent, sheathing leaf-bases
- Fibrous, often shallow roots
- Vascular bundles in a complex/scattered arrangement
- true 2° growth rare, with vasc cambium
Eudicots:
- Reticulate/netlike veins
- Flower parts in 4s or 5s
- One prominent root (tap root)
- Common true 2° growth
