Differentiate between a network and a computer network
A network is an interconnected system of objects or entities to facicilitate communication and the sharing of resources.
A computer network on the other hand, is an interconnection of computers and other network devices to enable them to communicate and share resources
What devices are required to setup a wired/wireless LAN?
- Router
- Switch
- Ethernet cables
- Wireless Access Point
What are the types of tranimision media and their connectors required to set up a wired/wireless LAN?
Wired Media:
* Ethernet cables: RJ45 connectors
* Fiber Optic Cables: SC, FC connectors
Wireless Media:
* Radio waves e.g Wifi
Wireless media donot require physical connectors for devices to connect to a network
What is installed in a network to protect it from outside attack?
A Firewall
