Very short, incisive poem

Long, narrative poem with a serious subject and elevated tone. The narrator starts by explaining in medias res.

Epic focused on a heroic figure, superhuman deeds, and gods.

Mock-Epic
Parody of the heroic poem by treating unimportant events or subjects. Pope was a leader in this.
