what is a BCC
A
it is a locally invasive tumour of epidermal keratinocytes
it is the most common type of skin cancer and rarely metastasises
they do not cause bleeding or pain and are typically very slow growing

how do they present
A
as small, skin-coloured or pink nodule with a central depression
they often will have a pearly rolled edge and surface telangiectasia
in older lesions the centre can become necrotic or ulcerated
they occur in sun exposed areas of the skin
