Criteria for Obesity Surgery
A
BMI > 40 kg/sq.m or >35 with serious comorbid disease treatable by wt loss
Minimum 5 years of obesity
Failure of conservative treatment
No Alcoholism or major untreated psychiatric illness
Avoid if likely to get pregnant within 2 years
Age 18-55
Acceptable operative risk
