Neat
Spirit as is, no chilling involved

Example: a wet scotch and soda means you want more of the soda and less of the scotch
Dry
A little amount of dry vermouth
Dirty
Contains olive juice
Perfect
Equal parts sweet vermouth to dry vermouth

Tall
Served in a high ball glass, add more mix not more liquor
Double
Twice the alcohol in shots
Highball
Any spirit served with ice and soda water in a highball glass
Lowball
A short drink made of spirits served with ice, water or soda in a small glass

A short “hurricane glass” good for scotch
Hurricane Glass
A tall tulip glassware for piña coladas, bloody Marty’s, ect
Snifter glass
A wide Bowled stemmed glass for brandies and cognac captures the aromas
Cordial Glass
A mini wine glass generally used for after dinner drinks or desert wines and spirits
Shaken
A martini preparation using a shaker
Stirred
A martini is stirred in ice so it doesn’t water down the drink
Bruised
Usually referring to gin or a martini where you shake the drink longer so small bits of ice are in the drink making it look “cloudy”
Call
A liquor and mixer of which the liquor is defined by a brand
Well
A liquor and mixer drink of which neither elements are defined
I.e. (gin and tonic, rum and coke)
Top shelf
Also known as supercall, the higher octane often higher proof alcohols, or super aged.
