How is Bat mitzvah observed
A
- it is not marked as a religious ritual as women don’t play an active role in worship hence the ceremony takes place at home with family and is celebrated with a meal
- the girl is gifted with religious gifts such as a copy of the tenakh, a story book of powerful Jewish women and a beautifully decorated pushke
- the girl makes a speech about the awareness of what Bat mitzvah involves
- if the girl wants she could read from the Torah in the synagogue but only in the presence of women and not in the main prayer hall
