Media Monopolisation
In 1983 50 corporations control the vast majority of all news media in the USA. However by 1992 22 companies owned and operated 90% of the mass media. By 2004 media ownership in the USA was concentrated in seven corporations.

E.G. News UK not own a multitude of newspapers but also own 31% of sky News and publish books
Global ownership
Media ownership is international as owners have global empires
E.G. Rupert Murdoch has media ownership in Europe, USA, Asia and Australia
Conglomeration and diversification
Media companies have ownership of diverse range of businesses and products
E.G. Virgin owns TV channels and have their own Internet yet they also own train lines aeroplanes and banks.
Global conglomeration
Media companies operating a global market producing different media products
