What is the responsibility of all personnel if their badge or ID card are either lost or stolen?
Employees are required to file police report’s, provide copies of the police reports to their departments, and pay for the replacement cost.
When may a county badge be issued?
By order of the chief administrative officer.

Which County officers and employees can be issued a county badge?
Whose duties include the enforcement of penal statutes and ordinances.
Who are peace officers under California penal code 830, arson investigators.
Persons designated by director of health services and approved by the CAO who are assigned to perform hazmat management work.
What is the reporting procedure for a lost or stolen badge or ID card and to whom shall it be reported to?
Must immediately notify your supervisor.
Must also notify the badge control clerk and or the ID clerk in the personal services section within 24 hours of a lost stolen or damaged badge or ID card.
When should personnel have their ID card in their possession?
When they are on duty or in uniform unless an exception is granted.
When our ID cards renewed?
After five years.
What are the conditions for mandatory return of a badge and ID card?
When employee is off on leave military, family, illness, injury, for more than 90 days.
When an employee is suspended for 15 days or more. Must be returned to the departments badge control clerk.
Termination of employment.
Upon termination of employment, what happens if an ID card is not surrendered to the county?
The employees benefits may be withheld for up to three months at the discretion of the department head with the approval of the chief administrative officer.
How long shall newly promoted employees update their ID card?
No later than one week prior to the scheduled promotional ceremony.
