Gram - coccobacilli that requires the bordet-gengou medium for growth. It is oxidase positive. It has three stages knows as Catarrhal stage which is 7-10 days, Then Paroxysmal which is 2-3 weeks. and finally convelescent which is 3-16 weeks.
