Shigella dysenteriae
Bacterial dysentery- intestinal infection in humans; nausea, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, weight loss, fever

Diphtheria- infection of the nose and throat; thick/gray matter covering back of the throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes, weakness

Pharyngitis- irritation of the throat accompanying infections such as cold or flu
Impetigo- skin infection causing sores on the face; red sores around nose and mouth that ooze and then form a yellow crust
Ear infections- inflammation of the inner, middle, or outer ear with infection; ear pain, impaired hearing or balances, dizziness

Cholera Epidemics- bacterial disease causing severe diarrhea; spread by contaminated waters; rarely causes shock and seizure

Gangrene- can cause food poisoning; causes dead tissue caused by a lack of blood flow; affects toes, fingers, and limbs; can affect muscles and organs; discolored skin, sever pain, numbness, foul discharge
