Geography
A

- 1474 and 1479 - each became monarch of their respective, separate, realms.
- Castile and Aragon united by the inheritance of the Habsburg Charles I but remain separate realms.

- Added during the reign of Ferdinand and Isabella (1474-1516): Granada 1492, New World discoveries 1492 onwards, Cerdagne and Roussillon 1493 and Navarre 1515.
- Added during the reign of Charles I (1516-1556): Habsburg lands: north and central Europe, including the Netherlands.
- During the reign of Philip II (1456-98), consisting of: Spain, Italy, Netherlands, New World.
