Commissioned applicant requirements
A
Citizen or naturalized citizen of the U.S. by date of first test
Be 21 years of age by date of first test
Meet minimum standards established by Nevada State Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Committee

Non-commissioned applicant requirements
A
Be citizen, natural citizen or permanent resident alien without conditions of the U.S. by date of first test
Be at least 18 years of age by date of first test. Age may be changed by Sheriff with approval.

A
Felony conviction 2 misdemeanor convictions DV conviction Fired from government agency False statements in application (Disqualified for life) Fired from previous job for misconduct Found guilty of corruption or infamous conduct Unfit due to character Does not meet hiring standards
