SP’s of the lower lumbar region
ORIGIN:
Rhomboid Minor
Ligamentum nuchae
Spines of C7 & T1 vertebrae
FUNCTION:
Trapezius
Elevates, retracts, and rotates scapula
Lower fibers depress scapula
ORIGIN:
Serratus Anterior
Anterolateral aspects of upper eight ribs
INNERVATION:
Serratus Anterior
Long Thoracic Nerve
(which is actually _superficial_ to the serratus anterior)
FUNCTION:
Rhomboid Minor*
*Fixes scapula to thoracic wall
Retracts and rotates scapula to depress glenoid cavity
INSERTION:
Levator scapulae
Medial border of scapula from superior angle to spine
