Proses pembahagian sel berlaku organ pembiakan for menghasilkan gamet ý mempunyai bil kromosom half ( haploid ) from bil kromosom sel induknya ( diploid )

○ memastikan pertambahan sel ý pesat berlaku
○ menggantikan sel² ý mati / rosak
○ menghasilkan individu baharu

○ memastikan bil kromosom diploid kekal dr generation to generation
○ menghasilkan variasi genetik with same spesies

- Kromosom homolog berpasangan ( sinapsis ) formed 4 kromatid for kromosom homolog ( bivalen / tetrad )
- Proses pindah silang are pertukran bahan genetik kromosom² X seiras
