What is a Producer?
An organism which can produce biomass to feed itself, usually through photosynthesis or chemosynthesis
What is a Consumer?
An organism that has to consume other organisms to survive
What is a predator?
A consumer that kills and eats other consumers
What is a prey?
A consumer that is killed and eaten by predators
Why must material in the living world be recycled?
Because the earth has limited resources so it needs to be reused so we don’t run out
What chemical elements are recycled when animals and plants decay?
Water, carbon dioxide and mineral ions
Who uses carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and for what?
Plants, for photosynthesis
Why is the water cycle important?
Because water is limited so it needs to be reused
