- uphold standards required by the professional regulator

- oversees 10 health and care regulatory bodies (8 professions, social work, HCPC)
- reviews performance of regulators annually
- reviews all final FtP decisions by those regulators
- audits early FtP decisions
- conducts special reviews as needed
- responds to concerns raised about regulatory bodies

- regulates a wide range of health professions (‘allied health professionals’)
