What is Hardware?
Hardware is the physical parts that make up a computer system.
What is Software?
Software is the actual programs or coded instructions the computer run.
What is the Main/Internal memory?
It consists of ROM chips that store program instructions for start up and basic programs.
It also contains RAM chips that store the programs that are currently running.
What is the Motherboard?
This is the large PCB (Printed Circuit Board) that contains all of the important components and connects USB and other sockets to the other components.
What is a sound card?
It is a PCB that controls the input and output of audio signals. Usually connected to a headphone or speaker port.
What is a video card?
This is a PCB that controls the production and output of computer graphics to the computer screen.
What is an input device?
Name some examples.
These are used to input data into a computer system.
Examples include: Keyboards, Mouse, Joysticks or sensors.
What is an output device?
Name some examples.
These are used to output data from a computer systems
Examples include: Printers, Computer screens.
Name, in order of processing power, the different types of computer.
