virus 1st replicated in 2 places. mucous surfaces in tonsils, virions are shed in saliva. 2nd is lymphoid tissues around small intestines. virions shed in feces

A
enters blood causing viremia, 99% recover completely. 2% infects brain causing meningitis and spinal cord causing paralyis. more serious disease associated w/a particular viral serotype and patient’s mHC
