1
Q

Property of water

A

Acts as a coolant
Keeps constant stable in environment in cells as enzymes only work in narrow range of temperatures

Q

A

DNA molecule is too large to pass through nucleus therefore a short section of DNA-gene is transcribed into a short messenger RNA molecule.

Q

Genetic Code-Triplet Code-Codon-Degenerate code

A

Genetic Code-The idea that DNA must code for a sequence of amino acids.
The code in the base sequenced is a simple triplet code.It is a sequence of three bases, called a codon. Each codon codes for an amino acid.
Degenerate Codes: there are three stop codons.Having a single ‘start’ codon ensures bases are read in ‘frame’.
