Bowel gas
SBO (>3cm, central, many loops, valvulae conviventes), LBO (>6cm, peripheral, haustra, strictures), Gas under diaphragm, Rigler’s sign, double bubble (duodenal obstruction)
Calcification
AAA, gall bladder stones, popcorn (pancreatitis/cancer), renal stone
Bone
Punched out (myeloma), sclerotis, mets, look at spine (osteosclerosis 2o to CKD (rugger jersey spine)
Volvuli
direction SW-NE = caecal or (>9cm) / NW-SE = sigmoid (both are risk of perforation/ischaemia) - constipation
Rugger Jersey spine
alternating bands of sclerotic and porous bone in the spine
