Q

What is AWS outposts and how is it used

A

AWS Outposts extends AWS infrastructure and services to customer premises or co-location facilities. It allows customers to run AWS compute, storage, database, and other services locally, providing a consistent hybrid cloud experience.

On-Premises Extension of AWS: AWS Outposts brings native AWS services, infrastructure, and management tools to customer premises or co-location facilities.

AWS manages the installation, configuration, maintenance, and updates of Outposts hardware and software, ensuring that customers can focus on building and running their applications without worrying about infrastructure management.

Hardware Configuration: AWS Outposts hardware consists of fully integrated racks that include compute, storage, and networking resources.

Connectivity: AWS Outposts connects to the AWS Region over the internet or through AWS Direct Connect.

AWS Outposts enables hybrid cloud deployments by extending AWS services to on-premises environments.

Q

What is AWS Wavelength

A

AWS Wavelength enables developers to deploy applications at the edge of the 5G network. It allows developers to run their applications in AWS infrastructure located at the edge of telecommunication providers’ 5G networks, bringing AWS services closer to mobile and connected devices.

AWS Wavelength brings the power of cloud computing closer to end-users and devices by deploying AWS infrastructure (compute, storage, and networking) at the edge of 5G networks. This enables low-latency, high-throughput communication between mobile devices and AWS services.

Q

AWS Local Zones

A

AWS Local Zones are an extension of AWS infrastructure that brings AWS services closer to end-users and applications in geographic areas with a high concentration of users. They are designed to provide low-latency access to AWS services for applications that require single-digit millisecond latencies.

Ex in US east 1, we have boston, chicago or dallas local zones
