• In the absence of symptoms or signs of hyperthyroidism, there is no need to postpone elective surgery for TSH 0.1–0.4, or a
• TSH that is undetectable and free T4 <1.5 times the upper limit of normal. The anesthesiologist should be informed.
• These recommendations are based on the physiological effects of mild hyperthyroidism and not on clinical trials.
