Autonomic receptors and second messangers Flashcards
What receptors do uterine relaxation?
sympathetic beta 2 receptors
What receptors cause pupil dilation
sympathetic alpha 1 receptors
What receptors control bladder contraction? What receptors control bladder sphincters?
M3 muscarinic parasympathetic receptors promote bladder contraction. alpha 1 sympathetic receptors promote bladder sphincter muscle contraction.
What receptors promote pupil constriction?
parasympathetic muscarinic M3 receptors
What receptors increase aqueous humor production?
Beta 2 receptors
What receptors promote bronchodilation? bronchoconstriction?
dilation is Beta 2; constriction in M3
what do alpha-1 receptors do?
incr. vascular smooth muscle contraction, promote pupillary dilation, increase intestinal and bladder sphincter tone
What do alpha-2 receptors do?
decr. sympathetic outflow, decr. insulin release, decr. lipolysis, incr. platelet aggregation
What do beta-1 receptors do?
increase heart rate and contractility. also incr. renin release and incr. lipolysis
What do beta-2 receptors do?
bronchodilation, vasodilation, incr. HR, incr. contractility, incr. lipolysis, incr. insulin release, decr. uterine tone, incr. aqueous humor production, and cause ciliary muscle relaxation.
What do M1 receptors do?
have effects on the CNS and enterics
What do M2 receptors do?
decr. HR and contractility of atria
What do M3 receptors do?
incr. exocrine gland synthesis, incr. gut peristalsis, incr. bladder contraction, bronchoconstriction, incr. pupillary sphincter muscle tone (pupillary contraction), and do accommodation.
