Where are lesions found for pemphigus foliaceus?
Lesions are localized to the head, face and ears in most cases.
How do you diagnose Pemphigus foliaceus
biopsy of a pustule is necessary for diagnosis. If there is not a pustule then use thickened crust.
What is the treatment protocol for PF?
Immunosuppression
Prednisone 2-4mg/kg/day in dogs 4-8mg/kg/day in a cat
Cyclosporine 7-10mg/kg/day
Mycophenolate mofetil 20-40mg/kg/day divided into 3 doses
Azithioprine 1.5-2.5mg/kg/day until remission
Where are Pemphigus erythematosus lesions found
symetrical crusting of the nose, face, and ears with subsuquent ulcerations.
