The big red “A” in the upper left corner
of the AutoCAD window.
Pull-down Menu is a vertical list of
commands that appears when a button
or menu item is selected.
Application Window
It contains the Quick Access toolbar
and the InfoCenter
Title bar
It contains
buttons for the most common functions.
quick access to toolbar
allows you to search for
help by typing into the search field.
info center
It provides easy access to many AutoCAD tools
with tabs, panels, and buttons
Ribbon
is a grouping of buttons for similar
commands.
Panel
is the main area
in the middle of
AutoCAD where
you add and
modify objects in
the designs that
you create.
Drawing Area
(User Coordinate System) It is a
double headed icon. Its purpose is to remind us
of the direction and the position of the X and Y
axis
UCS Icon
These represent where
you create your model and the layouts used for
plotting different views of your model.
Model and Layout Tabs
List all the commands you have made
in the sequence that we made them.
Command Window
We can use it to
type the commands that we need to
execute.
Command Prompt
It shows the coordinates of the screen
crosshairs, the status of various
AutoCAD modes and settings
