Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) Test
A sensitive but non-specific for Autoimmune diseases. May be ordered as an initial test. Positive for:
- Lupus
- Sjogren syndrome
- RA
- Autoimmune hepatitis
Anti-dsDNA
Specific test for LUPUS
ANCA Antibodies
Sensitive for:
- Systemic vasculitis
Can also help differentiate between Crohns and UC (positive means more likely to be UC than Crohn’s)
Anticentromere Antibody (ACA)
Sensitive for:
- Scleroderma
Ordered when there are symptoms suggestive of CREST syndrome
Histone antibodies
Used to diagnose Drug-induced lupus
Anti-CCP antibodies
Used to diagnose:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Can also be used to estimate disease severity*
Anti-RNP antibodies
Mixed connective tissue disease
Anti-Sm Antibodies
Highly specific test for LUPUS
Anti-Ro
Most often used to diagnose SJOGREN Syndrome
Anti-La
Tested with Anti-Ro to test for SJOGREN Syndrome
Anti-Jo
Used to test for POLYMYOSITIS
Antiphospholipid Antibodies (APA)
Antiphospholipid Syndrome
Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase (anti-tTG)/ Anti-Gliadin Antibodies (AGA)
Coeliac’s disease
